The ORUC family origins lie in the central plains of Konya. Mehmet Oruc, grandfather to Ahmed, Ramazan and Cumali was
head of a family with 13 children. They made a living from carpet making, farming and construction work. Conditions were
hard, and like many families in that region during those early days life was tough and the Orucs struggled to make a living.
Grandfather Oruc died in 1983 and his son, also named Mehmet, determined that it would be better if he relocated. After
much thought and research Mehmet moved his family to Dalyan in 1988. He died in 1992 but not before seeing his sons launch the business that is now Oruc Carpets, Oruc Travel, Beyaz Villas, Oruc Estate Agent and Oruc Construction.

Roland White has been a property owner in Dalyan since 1997 and, with his wife Theresa, jointly built and owns with the Oruc family a holiday apart/hotel complex, the successful Beyaz Villas. They also own their Turkish house in Dalyan.
He spends as much time as possible in Dalyan, especially during the holiday season, where he has worked closely with Cumali, Ramazan, Ahmet and other members of Oruc Construction.
It is his local knowledge which enables him to impart useful information to prospective purchasers.
